When people talk about the ajman bus station, they mean Al Musalla Bus Station — Ajman’s main bus terminal, where almost every bus journey in the emirate begins or ends. Run by Ajman Transport (the emirate’s Transport Authority), it stands on Sheikh Abdullah Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street in the Al Musalla district of central Ajman — you will also see the name spelled Al Musallah, which is the spelling RTA uses. Three bus families share the terminal: Dubai’s RTA runs its E400 and E411 intercity buses here, Sharjah’s SRTA runs its 114 and 112 buses here, and Ajman Transport runs its own intercity network to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain — plus Ajman’s city bus network. This guide covers every bus that uses Al Musalla, which card each one takes, the station facilities, and how to reach it.
Dubai travellers can start with the summary below — full stop lists and timetables are in our Dubai to Ajman bus guide, linked under Related Routes.

Dubai Buses from Al Musalla (RTA E400 & E411)
Two RTA buses connect Al Musalla with Dubai — the backbone of the Ajman–Dubai commute. Both are Nol card only: tap in when you board, tap out when you leave. Cash is not accepted on any RTA bus, and neither is Ajman’s Masaar card.
| Route | Dubai terminal | Fare | Frequency (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| E400 | Union Square, Deira | AED 15 | Every 20–30 min |
| E411 | Etisalat Bus Station (Green Line terminus) | AED 12 | Roughly hourly |
Choose by your Dubai destination. The E400 is the main service: it runs from around 4:30 AM to about 11:00–11:30 PM from Al Musalla, and Union Square sits directly on the Metro (Red and Green Lines). The E411 starts from Etisalat Bus Station beside the Green Line terminus in Al Qusais, keeps shorter hours (6:00 AM–9:00 PM from the Dubai side) and suits the Al Qusais, Al Nahda and airport side of Deira. The run takes about 45–60 minutes in normal traffic, and much longer in the morning peak towards Dubai. Ajman Transport’s own fare table also lists an Ajman–Dubai line at AED 15 with a Masaar card (AED 19 cash) — check the Masaar app or ta.gov.ae for its current departures before relying on it.
Sharjah Buses from Al Musalla (SRTA 114 & 112)
Sharjah is the short hop from Al Musalla — the two cities run into each other, and the ride takes about 25–35 minutes. The main services are SRTA’s routes 114 and 112, running between Al Musalla and Al Jubail Bus Station in central Sharjah every 15–30 minutes. The fare is AED 6, paid by Sharjah’s Sayer card or cash — your Nol card will not work on them. Timings and stops are in our Sharjah to Ajman bus guide.
Ajman Transport also runs its own buses towards Sharjah: its official fare table prices Sharjah at AED 5 with a Masaar card (AED 9 cash) and the Sharjah Industrial side at AED 6 (AED 10 cash), serving the Rolla and Industrial Area side rather than Al Jubail. Choose Al Jubail for the corniche and old city centre, Rolla and Industrial for the eastern districts.
Intercity Buses from Al Musalla (Ajman Transport)
Ajman Transport’s own intercity network fans out from Al Musalla to the rest of the UAE. Payment is by Masaar card (Ajman’s own smart card) or cash — Nol, Sayer and Abu Dhabi’s Hafilat cards are not accepted on these buses. Two routes run only four trips a day — plan your day around them rather than simply turning up.
| Destination | Fare | Frequency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi Central | AED 30 Masaar · AED 35 cash | 4 trips a day — 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM from Ajman | Direct since 9 July 2024; about 3 hours |
| Al Ain | AED 35 (cash or Masaar card) | 4 trips a day — 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 8:00 PM | Direct since 1 May 2025; the only direct Ajman–Al Ain bus |
| Ras Al Khaimah (Al Hamra) | AED 25 cash (AED 20 listed with Masaar card) | Every 2 hours from 7:30 AM | RAKTA-listed service via Umm Al Quwain; about 1 hour 20 minutes |
The Abu Dhabi bus is the long-distance flagship: a direct coach to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station that has run since 9 July 2024, taking about 3 hours via the E11 corridor. The Al Ain bus is the newest link, launched on 1 May 2025 — before it, this trip meant changing buses in Dubai or Sharjah. Fares, stops and return timings for the Al Ain service are in our Ajman to Al Ain bus guide. For Umm Al Quwain, Ajman Transport’s fare table lists AED 10 with a Masaar card (AED 15 cash), and the Ras Al Khaimah coach also stops in UAQ on its way north — ask at the counter for departures. For the Ras Al Khaimah bus, carry cash: sources disagree on Masaar acceptance and on the last evening departure, so confirm both at the counter or in RAKTA’s Sayr app.
One gap to know about: there is no direct bus from Al Musalla to Fujairah. For the East Coast, ride the 114 or 112 to Al Jubail in Sharjah and change there to SRTA route 116 to Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.
Ajman City Buses from Al Musalla
The same station is the hub of Ajman’s city bus network, so most local journeys start here too. Ajman Transport’s city lines fan out from Al Musalla across the emirate — the Al Jurf, Industrial Area, Al Hamidiya, Sheikh Ammar Street and Mushairif lines among them, plus an Al Jurf Express and a Hamidiya feeder — covering the Corniche, Al Nuaimia, City Centre Ajman, the Free Zone side, Ajman University and the industrial areas. City buses are cheap: the fare is AED 3 with a Masaar card or AED 5 in cash, paid on board. Route numbers and stopping patterns change from time to time, so check your line in the Masaar app before you travel.
Ajman Transport also runs an on-demand minibus for areas off the fixed lines, booked through the Ajman BOD app — AED 6 per trip within its zone (AED 4 per seat when booking for several people).
How to Reach Al Musalla Bus Station
The station sits in the middle of Ajman city, on Sheikh Abdullah Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street in the Al Musalla district. City Centre Ajman and the Corniche are both a short taxi ride away.
By Ajman city bus: Al Musalla is the hub of the city network, so any city line — Al Jurf, Industrial Area, Al Hamidiya, Sheikh Ammar Street, Mushairif — brings you here from across the emirate.
By taxi: Taxis wait outside the terminal and drivers across Ajman know it simply as “Musalla”. A taxi is also the practical option late at night, after the last buses.
From Dubai or Sharjah: The RTA E400 and E411 from Dubai and the SRTA 114 and 112 from Sharjah all terminate inside Al Musalla. There is no Metro station in Ajman; the practical rail connections are the Dubai Metro stations at the other ends of the E400 (Union) and E411 (Etisalat), so plan the Ajman side of your journey by bus or taxi.

Facilities and Tickets at Al Musalla
Al Musalla is a full-service terminal rather than a simple bus stop. Inside you will find ticket counters and a Customer Happiness point where staff can confirm the day’s departures, waiting areas, a prayer room, restrooms, and departure information by destination. This is the place to buy or top up a Masaar card before an Ajman Transport trip — the card is also sold and recharged through the Masaar app, the Ajman One app, self-service kiosks and the Ajman Transport website. For RTA Dubai buses there is nothing to buy at the station: you simply tap your Nol card on the bus, so make sure it is topped up before you arrive (there is no Dubai Metro station in Ajman to top up at).
Payment is where this station catches people out, because three different operators meet under one roof and each takes a different card. Ajman Transport’s buses take the Masaar card or cash. Dubai’s E400 and E411 take the Nol card only. Sharjah’s 114 and 112 take the Sayer card or cash. Abu Dhabi’s Hafilat card is not accepted on any bus at this station.

Tips for Using Al Musalla Bus Station
- Carry the right card for the right bus: Masaar or cash for Ajman Transport, Nol for the two Dubai RTA buses, Sayer card or cash for every SRTA bus. None of the three cards works on the other operators’ buses — the single most common mistake at Al Musalla.
- Plan around the four-a-day buses: The Abu Dhabi bus (7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM) and the Al Ain bus (8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 8:00 PM) run just four trips a day. Miss one and you wait hours or reroute via Sharjah or Dubai — arrive 20 minutes early.
- Board the E400 at the terminal for a seat: Morning buses towards Dubai fill up fast between about 6:30 and 8:30 AM. Starting at Al Musalla guarantees a seat; intermediate stops can be left with standing room only.
- Carry cash for the Ras Al Khaimah bus: The fare is AED 25; sources disagree on Masaar acceptance and on the last evening departure. Carry cash and confirm the last bus at the counter.
- Use the right app for the right bus: The Masaar app covers Ajman Transport services and card recharge, RTA’s S’hail app shows live E400 and E411 departures, and SRTA answers on 600 525252 for the Sharjah buses.
- Mind the last buses: Most services wind down between 11:00 PM and midnight. After that, a taxi is the only option — Ajman has no night bus network.
