The oud metha bus station is one of the newest purpose-built bus stations in Dubai: an RTA “model station” in Oud Metha, Bur Dubai, just off Umm Hurair Road by the Rashid Hospital roundabout and only 300 metres from Oud Metha Metro Station on the Green Line. It is a full station building — ground floor plus three floors with rooftop parking — serving Oud Metha and Dubai Healthcare City. From its bays, city buses run to Dubai Mall, Business Bay, Al Nahda, Al Qusais and the old town around Dubai Museum.
This guide covers every route based at the station and the bay each one uses, the other routes that call here, timings, facilities, and how to reach the station by Metro, bus, taxi and car. One warning up front: several websites list intercity buses to Sharjah, Ajman and Fujairah from Oud Metha. No intercity bus leaves from this station — the correction is below.

Routes from Oud Metha Bus Station
Six routes are based at the station, and in RTA stop data each one is tied to its own numbered bay, from “Oud Metha Bus Station 1” to “Oud Metha Bus Station 9”. The main services are:
| Route | Bay | Where it goes | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 28 | 1 | Dubai Mall, via Wafi City and Al Jaddaf | City |
| C18 | 2 | Al Qusais 1, via Shaikh Rashid Colony (Karama) | City |
| F70 | 3 | BurJuman side, via Al Fahidi and Dubai Museum | Feeder |
| 26 | 6 | Business Bay 2 Bus Station | City |
| 23 | 7 | Al Nahda 1, via Healthcare City and Festival City | City |
| 14 | 8 | Business Bay Metro Station, via Al Jaddaf | City |
Dubai Mall and Business Bay: Routes 28, 14 and 26
The 28 is the station’s flagship route: from bay 1 it crosses to Dubai Mall. It is also the last service moving at night — buses run from about 5:00 AM until around 1:46 AM from the Dubai Mall end. Business Bay has two links: the 14 from bay 8, via Al Jaddaf to the stops beside Business Bay Metro Station (daily, about 5:00 AM to 11:40 PM), and the 26 from bay 6 to Business Bay 2 Bus Station, a shorter run of about 40 minutes. The 26 is commuter-shaped — roughly 6:00 AM to 8:40 PM, and feed listings show it as a weekday service — so check S’hail before planning a weekend trip around it.
Deira and Al Qusais Side: Routes 23 and C18
For the north side of the city, the 23 leaves from bay 7 to Al Nahda 1, passing the Healthcare City and Festival City side of the Creek — first departure about 5:00 AM. The C18 from bay 2 runs to Al Qusais 1 via Shaikh Rashid Colony, the residential blocks on the Karama side of Umm Hurair — the same corridor served by Karama Bus Station, a short ride west.
F70 to the Old Town, and the Metro Feeders
The F70 from bay 3 is the heritage run: into old Bur Dubai via Al Fahidi and the Dubai Museum, finishing on the BurJuman side. Two more services belong to the Metro station rather than the bus station, but they matter here: the F18 feeder loops from Oud Metha Metro Station Terminus through the district — American Hospital, Lamcy Plaza and Rashid Hospital are its stops — and calls at the bus station stops in the RTA feed (it is the first bus of the day here, at about 4:52 AM), while route 6 runs from the Metro terminus towards Wafi Residences.
More Routes Calling at Oud Metha
Beyond the six based routes, RTA feed listings show more services calling at the station or the stops around it: the 27 (Gold Souq to Dubai Mall) and the 10 (Gold Souq to Al Quoz, via Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Satwa); the 44 (Al Ghubaiba to Al Rashidiya) and the 66 towards Al Faqa along Oud Metha Road; and the X23 (Al Ghubaiba to International City) and X28 (Lulu Village to Dubai Internet City) expresses at the Metro-side stops. Confirm the exact stop in S’hail — some use the streets beside the station, not the bays inside it.
No Intercity Buses from Oud Metha
Several Oud Metha guides — including some of the biggest property and bus-timing sites — list an “E303 to Sharjah”, an “E400 to Ajman” and even an “E600 to Fujairah” from this station. None of that is true. Oud Metha is a city bus station: every route based here stays inside Dubai, and no E-route starts or calls here. The E303 leaves from Union Square in Deira, the Ajman buses (E400) from Al Ghubaiba, and the Fujairah bus is the E700 — RTA has no E600 at all. Your intercity connections are one change away: the Green Line to Union Square for the E303, or west to Satwa Bus Station for the E304 to Sharjah. For Abu Dhabi, change at BurJuman onto the Red Line for Al Jafiliya’s E102 to the airport and Mussafah.
Oud Metha Bus Station Timings
The station has no single opening and closing time, because every route keeps its own schedule. The pattern is an early start and a late finish: the F18 is moving through the station stops from about 4:52 AM, the F70 leaves bay 3 at about 4:54 AM, and the 14, 23 and 28 are all running by about 5:00 AM. Most routes then run through the day and wind down around midnight; the 28 runs latest, until around 1:46 AM from the Dubai Mall end. Friday and weekend patterns are thinner, so check live departures in the S’hail app or on the RTA website before you set out.
How to Reach Oud Metha Bus Station
By Metro: Oud Metha Station (Green Line)
Take the Green Line to Oud Metha Metro Station. RTA puts the bus station 300 metres from the Metro station — a few minutes’ walk — with the F18 feeder and route 6 based at the Metro terminus. One Nol card covers both legs. Coming from the Red Line, change at BurJuman. One naming trap: journey planners list “Oud Metha Bus Station” (the building), “Oud Metha Metro Station Terminus” (the feeder stop outside the Metro) and street stops like “Oud Metha Bus Stop 2” — three different places.
By Bus
Every route in the table above serves the station itself, so you may already be on one. From Karama, the C18 and the streets around Karama Bus Station are the link; from Satwa and Al Jafiliya, the 10 and 27 run along the district’s edge; from Deira, the C18, 23 and 27 all finish or pass here.
By Taxi or Car
There is a taxi stand at the station, and RTA built it with drivers in mind: 350 car parking spaces in the building and on its rooftop, plus pick-up and drop-off points and 23 bicycle racks. Approach via Umm Hurair Road or Oud Metha Road; the hospital roundabout gets congested at peak times, and the parking — shared with the Metro and hospitals — fills up on weekday mornings.

Facilities and Tickets at Oud Metha
Because Oud Metha is one of RTA’s model stations, its facilities are a step above a street terminus. RTA’s own description lists customer service areas, self-service kiosks and trading outlets inside the building; the station covers 9,640 square metres and was designed for around 10,000 riders a day. It is still a working bus station, not a mall — cafés and shops are outside, along Oud Metha Road.
Payment is the standard RTA rule: Nol card only, no cash on any bus. Tap in when you board and tap out when you leave so the correct zone fare is charged — AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones and AED 7.50 across three or more (most rides from here are one or two zones). For top-up, the self-service kiosks are the in-station option per RTA; the full-service ticket office is at the Metro station, 300 metres away, or use the S’hail app. Children under 5 travel free.
Rashid Hospital, Healthcare City and Lamcy Plaza
A large share of this station’s passengers are here for what surrounds it. Rashid Hospital — one of Dubai’s main government hospitals — stands by the roundabout a few minutes’ walk away, Dubai Healthcare City begins just east, and the American Hospital is a short ride west on the F18 and 6. St Mary’s Catholic Church is on Oud Metha Road, and across Sheikh Rashid Road Wafi City is the nearest mall.
One landmark needs an honest note. Bus stops around here still carry the name Lamcy Plaza — the F18 and the 28 both use it in RTA data — but the mall itself has been closed since a fire in March 2017. The building was sold in 2025 and is expected to reopen as “The Plaza” in 2027. Until then, any guide that sends you here for Lamcy Plaza shopping is out of date.

Tips for Using Oud Metha Bus Station
- Use the bay numbers: each based route has its own bay (28 bay 1, C18 bay 2, F70 bay 3, 26 bay 6, 23 bay 7, 14 bay 8) — go straight to yours.
- Do not wait for an intercity bus: no E303, E400 or Fujairah bus leaves from Oud Metha, whatever other websites claim. Change at Union Square, Satwa or Al Ghubaiba instead.
- Learn the three “Oud Metha” stops: the bus station, the Metro Station Terminus feeders and the street stops are different places. Check which your route uses in S’hail.
- The 28 is your late-night safety net: it runs until around 1:46 AM from Dubai Mall — but the 26 stops in the early evening, so do not plan a late Business Bay return around it.
- Hospital peaks are real peaks: Rashid Hospital visiting hours and clinic times fill the buses and the car park — travel outside them if you can.
- Top up before the Metro leg: one Nol card covers Metro and bus, and the interchange is only 300 metres.
