Kalba Bus Station is the bus terminus of Kalba, the quiet east-coast town that belongs to the emirate of Sharjah but sits on the Gulf of Oman, wedged between Fujairah to the north and the Oman border to the south. Kalba is famous for the mangroves of Khor Kalba, its corniche and its fort — and it has no Metro and no Dubai buses. Every bus here belongs to Sharjah’s SRTA: intercity routes 611 and 616 run west across the mountains to Sharjah city, and local route 66 runs along the coast road within Kalba itself. This guide covers the buses that use Kalba Bus Station, the fares and cards they take, and how to chain Kalba with Fujairah and Dubai.
If your trip is mainly Sharjah to the east coast, our Sharjah to Fujairah bus guide compares the SRTA east-coast routes side by side. For the station itself and Kalba’s own buses, read on.

SRTA 611: Kalba to Sharjah City
The 611 is Kalba’s lifeline — the main bus between the east coast and Sharjah city. From Kalba Bus Station it runs north into Fujairah, then climbs west through Masafi in the Hajar mountains and Al Dhaid before crossing the Sharjah suburbs to Al Jubail Bus Station. The full trip covers roughly 120–130 km and takes about 2.5 hours, so most Kalba passengers ride only part of it: Fujairah is around 20–25 minutes north, while Sharjah is the long westbound run.
| Route | Where it goes | Fare | Frequency (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 611 | Kalba Bus Station ↔ Al Jubail, Sharjah | AED 30 (full trip) | Roughly hourly |
| 616 | Kalba (Al Sidra Park) ↔ Al Jubail, Sharjah | Distance-based — check on board | Around 5 trips a day |
The main stops on the 611, from Kalba, are: Kalba Bus Station · Al Khan Mosque, Kalba · Corniche Park, Kalba · Kalba Industrial · Fujairah Old Bus Station and the Fujairah city stops · Masafi (Hospital) · Al Dhaid (Post Office) · Sharjah Airport Terminal · Al Jubail Bus Station. Buses leave Kalba from around 5:30 AM and run roughly hourly through the day, with the last departure at around 10:00 PM; from Al Jubail the pattern is similar in reverse. Treat those times as the shape of the service rather than a promise — SRTA does not publish a printed timetable for the route, so confirm the day’s departures on srta.gov.ae or by calling 600 525252 before you travel.
The fare for the full Kalba–Sharjah trip is AED 30, paid by Sayer card (Sharjah’s smart card) or cash. Shorter rides — Kalba to Fujairah, for example — cost less. One warning that catches out Dubai visitors: your Nol card does not work on any bus in Kalba. Nol only enters the picture if you change onto Dubai’s RTA buses later in the journey.
SRTA 616: The Second Sharjah Bus
The 616 follows the same mountain corridor as the 611 but runs far less often — around five trips a day in each direction. From Al Jubail Bus Station it calls at Sharjah Airport Terminal, Al Dhaid Post Office and Masafi Police Station, then serves Fujairah’s Choithrams stop before crossing into Kalba, where it stops at Kalba Corniche and finishes at Al Sidra Park. Timings reported for the route put departures spread from early morning to early evening, but the sources disagree on the exact hours — check SRTA before relying on a specific 616. For most travellers the 611 is the practical Sharjah bus; the 616 is a useful backup if its timing happens to suit you, and its Al Sidra Park and Corniche stops can be closer to the seafront side of Kalba than the main bus station.
Local Buses in Kalba (Route 66)
Within Kalba, SRTA runs local route 66 along Rugaylat Road (the E99 coast road) — a shoreline service launched in September 2023 and the only bus that moves around inside the town. Its 12 stops are: Corniche 1 · Corniche 2 · Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi · Thabit Bin Qais Mosque · Kalba Medical Centre · Etihad Kalba Sports Club (Ittihad Kalba) · Kalba Industrial Area 1 · Kalba Industrial Area 2 · Al Saaf 7 · Government Buildings · Kalba Waterfront · Khatmat Milaha Border. At launch, buses ran from Corniche 1 from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM and from the Khatmat Milaha end from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM; SRTA confirmed the route back in service in 2026 after the east-coast rain disruptions, but check current times before you go. The ride along the corniche, past the Kalba Waterfront stop next to the Khor Kalba mangroves, is the scenic way to cross the town — and like every SRTA bus here, it takes Sayer card or cash, not Nol.
Kalba to Fujairah and Dubai
Fujairah is the easy hop. The 611 (and the 616) run north from Kalba into Fujairah city in around 20–25 minutes — the 611 calls at Fujairah Old Bus Station and city stops such as Etisalat and Choithrams. Note the distinction that matters for onward travel: the 611’s Fujairah stops are city stops, not the E700’s terminal. Fujairah Bus Station itself is a short taxi ride from them. Our Sharjah to Fujairah bus guide has the full east-coast stop lists.
no direct bus from Kalba to Dubai, and any website claiming one is wrong. You have two workable routings. The eastern one: ride the 611 north to Fujairah, hop by taxi to Fujairah Bus Station, and take the RTA E700 from there to Etisalat Bus Station in Dubai (AED 30, Nol card — a different card from the Sayer you used in Kalba). The western one: stay on the 611 all the way to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah and change there to an RTA bus into Dubai. Either way, Kalba to Dubai by bus is a journey of around 3 hours or more with the change — build the connection into your plan and do not cut the last bus of the day fine.
How to Reach Kalba Bus Station
The station stands in central Kalba, on the corniche and fish market side of town, within reach of Kalba Fort and the Khor Kalba mangrove reserve. Kalba itself is a Sharjah exclave: it borders Fujairah city to the north and the Khatmat Milaha crossing into Oman to the south, and the only roads in are the E99 coast road and the mountain road from Fujairah.
By local bus: Route 66 runs the length of the coast road through Kalba, and the 611 and 616 themselves stop at Corniche-side stops in town. If you are staying along the corniche, one of these stops is likely closer than the station itself.
By taxi: Taxis are the default way around Kalba and the practical link from Fujairah city and Fujairah Bus Station. Drivers know the bus station; “Kalba Bus Station” or the corniche will get you there.
From Sharjah and Dubai: The buses come to Kalba — the 611 and 616 from Al Jubail terminate here, and Dubai travellers arrive via the E700 to Fujairah plus the short onward hop described above. There is no Metro or train anywhere on the east coast; the nearest Metro station is Etisalat in Dubai, at the far end of the E700.

Facilities and Tickets at Kalba Bus Station
Be honest with your expectations: Kalba Bus Station is a modest local terminus for a small town, not a big-city interchange building. Do not plan around the long facility lists some websites attach to it — there is no large terminal hall here. What you can rely on is a departure point where the SRTA buses start and finish, staff and drivers who can confirm the day’s departures, and the town’s shops and cafeterias a short walk away around the corniche. For anything more detailed — a specific departure, a service change, a rain-day suspension — SRTA answers on 600 525252 and publishes updates at srta.gov.ae.
Tickets are simple because there is only one operator. Every bus from Kalba is SRTA, and every one takes the Sayer card or cash. If you are continuing to Dubai on the E700, remember the second half of the journey needs the opposite arrangement: a Nol card with at least AED 30 on it, and no cash option at all. Carry both cards, or cash for the SRTA leg and a topped-up Nol for the RTA leg.

Tips for Using Kalba Bus Station
- Check the day’s departures before you set out: The 611 runs roughly hourly and the 616 only a few times a day, and SRTA publishes no printed timetable for Kalba. A quick check on srta.gov.ae or a call to 600 525252 beats an hour’s wait at the station.
- Do not bring a Nol card and nothing else: No bus in Kalba accepts Nol. You need a Sayer card or cash for every SRTA bus — and a Nol card only becomes useful if you change onto the E700 in Fujairah.
- Know which Fujairah stop you need: The 611 and 616 serve Fujairah city stops, while the E700 leaves from Fujairah Bus Station. If you are changing for Dubai, allow time and a short taxi ride between the two.
- Use route 66 for the town itself: The corniche, Kalba Waterfront, the mangroves side and the government buildings are all on the 66’s coast-road run — far easier than walking the E99 in the heat.
- Watch the weather in the mountains: East-coast bus services were suspended after heavy rain in 2026 and restored in phases, with the 611, 616 corridor and route 66 among the routes brought back. On storm days, confirm your bus is running before travelling.
- Arrive a few minutes early: With hourly buses, a missed departure costs you a full hour. Local riders report buses occasionally leaving promptly — be at the stop before the scheduled time, not at it.
