The UAE’s East Coast — Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Dibba — belongs to Sharjah and Fujairah, not Dubai, and its buses follow that geography: they are run by SRTA (Sharjah) out of Al Jubail Bus Station, not by RTA. Three SRTA routes do almost all the work: 611 to Kalba (via Fujairah), 616 as a second Kalba service, and 116 to Khor Fakkan. Just as important are the two journeys that don’t exist as direct buses — Dubai to Khor Fakkan, and Fujairah to Dibba — because invented “direct” timetables for both circulate online. This guide covers each route with verified fares and timings, flags where the sources fight each other, and gives the real connections for the gaps.

Sharjah to Kalba bus — Routes 611 and 616
Route 611 (the main service)
Route 611 links Kalba Bus Station with Al Jubail Bus Terminal 4, Sharjah, running via Kalba Industrial Area, Fujairah (old bus station), Masafi, Al Dhaid and Sharjah Airport — which makes it three useful journeys in one: Sharjah–Kalba, Sharjah–Fujairah and Kalba–Fujairah. From Kalba, published departures start at 05:30 (05:30, 06:30, 08:00, 10:30, 13:00, 15:30, 18:00…) with the last bus around 22:00; frequency is about 60 minutes at peak, 90 minutes off-peak, and the full ride takes 2½–3 hours. Fares depend on how far you ride: the full Kalba–Sharjah journey is quoted at about AED 30 (one segment table says AED 27), while Kalba–Fujairah is only about AED 8 and Kalba–Dhaid about AED 17.
Route 616 (the second service)
Route 616 runs Al Jubail ↔ Al Sidra Park, Kalba via Sharjah Airport, Dhaid, Masafi and Fujairah, about five times a day (every ~3 hours) at roughly 2½ hours. Here the sources genuinely fight: three different departure patterns are published (06:30/09:30/12:30/15:30/18:30 vs 06:00/09:00/12:00/15:00/18:00 vs 05:30/08:00/11:30/15:00/18:00) and the fare is quoted as both AED 21 and AED 25. Use 616 as a backup to the 611, and confirm its times at Al Jubail before relying on a specific departure. Both routes also stop at Sharjah Airport, so the “Kalba to Sharjah Airport bus” people search for is simply the 611/616 — there is no separate airport shuttle.

Sharjah to Khor Fakkan bus — Route 116
Route 116 is the Khor Fakkan service: Al Jubail → Al Zubara/Khor Fakkan, via the same Dhaid–Masafi–Fujairah corridor. The most rigorous data — timetable results taken from SRTA’s own journey enquiry — shows hourly departures from 06:00 to 22:30, fare AED 30, scheduled time 2 hours 55 minutes to Al Zubara, with return buses hourly through the evening. Now the warning: a large cluster of websites describes the 116 as running every 30 minutes for AED 27 in “about 2 hours” — those pages conflate the Fujairah-city stops with the Khor Fakkan terminus and predate the current enquiry data. For Khor Fakkan specifically, plan on hourly, AED 30, just under 3 hours. (Don’t confuse the 116 with Route 115 — the 115 goes north to Ras Al Khaimah and is covered in our Sharjah to Ras Al Khaimah bus guide.)
Fujairah ↔ Khor Fakkan is simply the northern segment of the 116: about 33 minutes, hourly, roughly AED 15–20 — the easiest East Coast hop there is.

Dubai to Khor Fakkan: no direct bus
Despite the search volume, there is no direct Dubai–Khor Fakkan bus, and the one site advertising a direct “Emirates Bus” from Al Ghubaiba is making it up. Your real options:
- Via Fujairah: RTA E700 from Union Square to Fujairah (AED 25, Nol card, ~2 hrs 15 min — full details in our Dubai to Fujairah bus guide), then the 116 north to Khor Fakkan (~33 min) or a taxi from Fujairah city.
- Via Sharjah: any Dubai–Sharjah bus to Al Jubail (see our Dubai to Sharjah bus guide), then the 116 direct to Khor Fakkan — one change, no backtracking.
Fujairah to Dibba: the honest answer
Dibba is where East Coast bus information falls apart, so here is exactly what could and couldn’t be verified. Current journey planners show no direct Fujairah–Dibba bus: the offered routing is the 116 to Khor Fakkan, then a taxi for the remaining coastal stretch to Dibba Al Fujairah (or Dibba Al Hisn). An old, endlessly copied paragraph claims Fujairah Transport Corporation runs an hourly bus from near Fujairah’s Lulu Centre via Khor Fakkan to Dibba, and one traveller review mentions a “green bus” stop near Lulu for Khor Fakkan and Dibba at about AED 11 — but no route number, timetable or fare for a Dibba service could be confirmed from any operator source, and the “E701 Fujairah–Dibba” route table on one site is uncorroborated and likely fabricated. Practical plan: bus to Khor Fakkan on the 116, taxi to Dibba — and if a local FTC bus does appear at the Lulu stop, treat it as a bonus. The same applies in reverse from Dubai: no direct Dubai–Dibba bus exists; allow about 4+ hours via Khor Fakkan and Sharjah.
Step by step: Sharjah to the East Coast
- Go to Al Jubail Bus Station, Terminal 4 in Sharjah.
- Choose your route: 611/616 for Kalba, 116 for Khor Fakkan (and for Fujairah city, either).
- Pay with a Sayer card or cash — Nol cards are not accepted on SRTA buses, whatever some timetable sites claim.
- Ride via Dhaid and Masafi; for Kalba stay on past Fujairah, for Khor Fakkan stay on the 116 to Al Zubara.
- Note the last buses back (611 ~22:00 from Kalba; 116 hourly to 22:30) — East Coast evenings are not the time to miss one.

FAQs
How do I get from Sharjah to Kalba by bus?
Take SRTA Route 611 from Al Jubail Bus Terminal 4 (main service, from 05:30, every 60–90 minutes, about AED 30, 2½–3 hours) or the less frequent Route 616 (about five trips a day, AED 21–25). Both stop at Fujairah and Sharjah Airport on the way.
What is the Sharjah to Khor Fakkan bus timing?
Route 116 runs hourly from Al Jubail between 06:00 and 22:30, taking about 2 hours 55 minutes to Al Zubara/Khor Fakkan, for AED 30. Websites claiming buses every 30 minutes at AED 27 are describing the Fujairah-city pattern, not Khor Fakkan.
Is there a direct bus from Dubai to Khor Fakkan?
No. Go via Fujairah (E700 to Fujairah, then the 116 or a taxi) or via Sharjah (Dubai–Sharjah bus to Al Jubail, then the 116 direct).
Is there a bus from Fujairah to Dibba?
No verified scheduled service could be confirmed — current planners route you on the 116 to Khor Fakkan plus a taxi. Old claims of an hourly Fujairah Transport bus from near Lulu Centre are uncorroborated; there is no confirmed route number, fare or timetable.
Can I pay with a Nol card on East Coast buses?
No. SRTA buses (611, 616, 116) take the Sayer card or cash. Nol only works on Dubai’s RTA buses such as the E700.
Is there a Kalba to Sharjah Airport bus?
Yes — Sharjah Airport is a stop on both the 611 and the 616 between Kalba and Al Jubail, so you don’t need a separate airport shuttle. Journey planners show about five direct airport trips a day at around 2 hours 10 minutes.
How long is the Fujairah to Khor Fakkan bus?
About 33 minutes on Route 116, running hourly, for roughly AED 15–20.
