Fujairah Bus Station: Routes, Timings & Fares

The Fujairah Bus Station is the main bus terminal of Fujairah city and the public-transport gateway to the UAE’s east coast. It stands in the Al Hlaifat district on Hamad Bin Abdullah Road, right beside Lulu Mall Fujairah, and three different bus families use it: Dubai’s RTA runs its E700 intercity bus here, Sharjah’s SRTA runs its east-coast routes through the station, and the Fujairah Transport Corporation runs the city’s local buses. Fujairah has no Metro, so almost every public-transport journey in the emirate begins at, ends at, or passes through this one terminal. This guide covers every bus that uses Fujairah Bus Station, which card each one takes, the station facilities, and how to reach it.

If your trip is specifically Dubai to Fujairah, start with our E700 bus guide, which has the full timetable and stop list. For Sharjah trips, our Sharjah to Fujairah bus guide compares the 116 and 611 side by side. For the station itself, read on.

Dubai Bus from Fujairah (RTA E700)

The E700 is the station’s headline service and the only direct bus between Fujairah and Dubai. Fujairah Bus Station is its east-coast terminus: from here the bus climbs through Masafi in the Hajar mountains, passes Al Dhaid and the Sharjah outskirts, and runs into Dubai to Etisalat Bus Station, beside the Etisalat Metro station at the end of the Green Line. The journey covers about 120 km and takes around 2 hours. Buses run several times a day in each direction rather than to a turn-up-and-go frequency, so this is a service you plan around — the full timetable and stop list are in our E700 bus guide.

RouteDubai terminalFareJourney time
E700Etisalat Bus StationAED 30About 2 hours

One change catches out a lot of travellers: the E700 has started from Etisalat since 30 August 2024. Many websites have not been updated and still show the bus leaving from Union Square in Deira at AED 25. Both details are out of date — the Dubai terminal is now Etisalat and the fare is AED 30. Payment is by Nol card only, tapped when you board; cash is not accepted on any RTA bus. Because there is no Metro station in Fujairah, make sure your Nol card holds at least AED 30 before you leave Dubai, or top it up in the S’hail app. Check the day’s departures in S’hail before you travel, as the E700 timetable is the one detail of a Fujairah trip you cannot afford to guess.

Sharjah and East Coast Buses (SRTA 116 & 611)

The station’s second bus family belongs to Sharjah’s SRTA, and it works completely differently from the Dubai bus. SRTA buses take the Sayer card (Sharjah’s own smart card) or cash — your Nol card will not work on them. Two SRTA routes connect Fujairah city with Sharjah and the east-coast towns:

RouteWhere it goesFareFrequency (approx.)
116Al Jubail, Sharjah ↔ Khor Fakkan — calling at Fujairah Bus StationAED 30Every 30–60 min
611Al Jubail, Sharjah ↔ Kalba — via Fujairah city stopsAED 30Roughly hourly

The 116 is the main Sharjah service. From Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah it runs via Al Dhaid and Masafi to Fujairah Bus Station, then continues north along the coast to Khor Fakkan — so Fujairah is both a destination in its own right and the interchange for Khor Fakkan. Buses run from early morning (around 5:30 AM) until late evening (around 11:00 PM), and the ride between Fujairah and Al Jubail takes roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. The 611 covers the same corridor as far as Fujairah, then turns south to Kalba: it serves Fujairah city stops such as the Etisalat and Choithrams stops rather than terminating at the bus station, which makes it the useful bus for Kalba and the southern coast. A third service, the 616, runs the same Kalba corridor a few times a day. Full stop lists and timetables for both routes are in our Sharjah to Fujairah bus guide — check which Fujairah stop your bus uses before you set out.

Note what is not available from Fujairah: there is no direct bus to Abu Dhabi, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah. For all three, ride the 116 or 611 to Al Jubail Bus Station and change there — Al Jubail has direct SRTA buses to Ajman and Abu Dhabi — or take the E700 to Dubai and connect onwards from there.

Local Buses in Fujairah

Within the city, buses are run by the Fujairah Transport Corporation, the emirate’s own transport operator. The network is modest compared with Dubai’s or Sharjah’s — a set of city routes linking the bus station with City Centre Fujairah, the Fujairah Corniche, the fort and old-town side of the city, and the residential districts. Fares are low, just a few dirhams (around AED 2–5), and are paid in cash on board: neither the Nol card nor the Sayer card is used on Fujairah’s local buses. Services run through the day from morning to late evening, but frequencies are thinner than in the big cities, so most short trips in Fujairah are still done by taxi — the Fujairah Transport Corporation also regulates the emirate’s taxis, and a taxi rank serves the station. If you are staying in Fujairah for more than a day, ask at the station counter for the current local route list, as city routes and timings change more often than the intercity ones.

How to Reach Fujairah Bus Station

The station sits in Al Hlaifat, the commercial heart of Fujairah city, on Hamad Bin Abdullah Road — the main road through the city — with Lulu Mall Fujairah immediately next door and the E84 (Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street) corridor close by. The Fujairah Corniche, Fujairah Fort and the city’s hotels are all a short ride away.

By local bus: Fujairah Transport Corporation city buses call at the station from across the city, including the City Centre Fujairah side. If your hotel or home is on a city route, this is the cheapest way in — just carry small cash for the fare.

By taxi: Taxis wait outside the terminal and can drop you at the entrance from anywhere in Fujairah city for a modest fare. Fujairah International Airport is a short taxi ride from the station — there is no direct airport bus, so a taxi is the standard link between the two.

From Dubai and Sharjah: You do not need to reach the station — the buses come to it. The E700 from Dubai terminates inside Fujairah Bus Station, the SRTA 116 from Sharjah calls here on its way to Khor Fakkan, and the 611 stops at city stops nearby. There is no Metro or train station in Fujairah; the nearest rail connection is the Dubai Metro at the far end of the E700, at Etisalat.

By car: Approach along Hamad Bin Abdullah Road or from the E84; parking is available around the station and the Lulu Mall area. If someone is collecting you, the mall side is the easiest landmark to aim for.

Facilities and Tickets at Fujairah Bus Station

Fujairah Bus Station is a working intercity terminal rather than a large interchange building. Inside you will find a ticket counter and staff who can confirm the day’s departures, a waiting area, and departure information for the three operators’ buses. What you buy — and how — depends entirely on which bus you are catching. For the RTA E700 there is nothing to buy at the station: you tap your Nol card on the bus, so arrive with the fare already on it. For SRTA buses, have a topped-up Sayer card or cash ready before you board. For local buses, keep small notes and coins for the driver.

For food and supplies, Lulu Mall Fujairah next door has a supermarket, cafés and shops, and the streets around the station have the usual teashops and cafeterias — useful if you have time to spare before a departure. Taxis queue outside the terminal for the last leg to the corniche hotels, Fujairah Fort or the airport side of the city.

Tips for Using Fujairah Bus Station

  • Carry the right payment for the right bus: Nol for the E700 to Dubai, Sayer card or cash for SRTA buses, cash for local Fujairah buses. Three systems meet at this one station, and none of the three cards works on the other operators’ buses.
  • Ignore the old Union Square guides: Any website still showing the E700 at Union Square or AED 25 is out of date. The bus moved to Etisalat on 30 August 2024 and the fare is AED 30.
  • Plan around the E700: It runs several times a day, not every few minutes. Check the timetable in the S’hail app, arrive early, and never assume you can just turn up — missing one can mean a long wait.
  • Check which Fujairah stop your SRTA bus uses: The 116 calls at Fujairah Bus Station itself; the 611 to Kalba uses city stops such as Etisalat and Choithrams. Waiting at the wrong one means watching your bus pass through the city without you.
  • Do not expect a direct bus west: There is no direct bus from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah. Change at Al Jubail in Sharjah or in Dubai — and build the connection time into your plan.
  • Allow extra time in mountain rain: Both the E700 and the SRTA routes cross the Hajar mountains via Masafi, and heavy rain can slow the pass roads. On wet days, take an earlier bus than you strictly need.

Where is Fujairah Bus Station located?

It is in the Al Hlaifat district of Fujairah city, on Hamad Bin Abdullah Road, immediately beside Lulu Mall Fujairah and near the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street (E84) corridor. It is the emirate’s main terminal, used by RTA, SRTA and Fujairah Transport Corporation buses.

Which bus goes from Fujairah to Dubai?

The E700, from Fujairah Bus Station to Etisalat Bus Station in Dubai, beside the Etisalat Metro station on the Green Line. It takes about 2 hours via Masafi and Al Dhaid, costs AED 30, and is paid by Nol card only. The full timetable is in our E700 bus guide.

Does the E700 still leave from Union Square?

No. The E700 moved from Union Square to Etisalat Bus Station on 30 August 2024, and the fare rose to AED 30 at the same time. Websites still showing Union Square departures or a AED 25 fare are out of date — the bus now runs between Etisalat and Fujairah Bus Station.

How do I get from Fujairah to Sharjah by bus?

Take an SRTA bus: the 116 runs from Fujairah Bus Station to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah (and continues to Khor Fakkan in the other direction), while the 611 links Fujairah city stops with Al Jubail and Kalba. Both cost AED 30 and take Sayer card or cash — not Nol. The journey to Sharjah takes roughly 2 to 2.5 hours.

Can I pay with a Nol card at Fujairah Bus Station?

Only on the E700 to Dubai, which is an RTA bus. SRTA buses to Sharjah, Khor Fakkan and Kalba take Sharjah’s Sayer card or cash, and Fujairah’s local buses take cash on board. You need a different payment method for each operator at this station.

Is there a bus from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi?

There is no direct bus. The practical routings are the E700 to Dubai, then an Abu Dhabi bus from there, or the 116 or 611 to Al Jubail in Sharjah, then SRTA route 117 direct to Abu Dhabi Central. Either way it is a long journey — allow around 5 hours including the change.

Is there a bus from Fujairah to Ras Al Khaimah?

No direct bus runs between Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Travel via Sharjah instead: take the 116 or 611 from Fujairah to Al Jubail Bus Station, then an onward bus towards Ras Al Khaimah. By car the two cities are about 1.5 hours apart, but by bus with the change you should allow roughly twice that.

What time is the first and last bus from Fujairah Bus Station?

It depends on the route. The station wakes early: SRTA buses towards Sharjah start at around 5:30 AM and run until around 11:00 PM, the E700 to Dubai runs several times through the day, and local buses run from morning to late evening. Check your route before travelling — S’hail for the E700, srta.gov.ae or 600 525252 for SRTA.
