Dubai to Fujairah Bus: Timings, Fare & Routes (E700)

Dubai to Fujairah bus is the RTA’s E700 — but if you have read about it before, read this first: since 30 August 2024, the E700 departs from Etisalat Bus Station, not Union Square. Most guides online still send travellers to Union with the old AED 25 fare and the old timetable, and passengers regularly miss the bus because of it. The current service runs from Etisalat Bus Station to Fujairah Bus Station roughly every 100 minutes for AED 30, taking about 2 hours through Dhaid and Masafi. This page has the current departure pattern in both directions — including the Fujairah to Dubai bus timing for the return — the stop list, and how to connect at both ends.

Last verified: 2 November 2026, against the current RTA route data. If a website tells you the E700 leaves from Union Square at AED 25, it is describing the pre-August-2024 service.

The Big Change: E700 No Longer Leaves from Union

For years the E700 ran from Union Square Bus Station in Deira, through the city, and out to Fujairah, ending at the Choithrams Supermarket stops. As part of an RTA network revision on 30 August 2024, the route was re-based to Etisalat Bus Station in Al Qusais — the station beside the Etisalat by e& Metro station (Green Line terminus) — and shortened at the Fujairah end to terminate at Fujairah Bus Station. The new route is faster and more reliable, but it caught out regular passengers, and the internet has not caught up: search results are still dominated by the Union timetable. Everything below describes the current Etisalat-based service.

E700 Timings: Dubai to Fujairah

The E700 runs every day with ten departures from Etisalat Bus Station, spaced about 100 minutes apart:

Depart Etisalat Bus StationArrive Fujairah Bus Station (approx.)
7:30 AM9:30 AM
9:10 AM11:10 AM
10:50 AM12:50 PM

5:30 PM7:30 PM
7:10 PM9:10 PM
8:50 PM10:50 PM
10:30 PM12:30 AM

The pattern is the same on weekdays and weekends, which makes the E700 easy to plan around — but with 100-minute gaps, missing a departure is costly, so arrive at Etisalat at least 15 minutes early.

Fujairah to Dubai Bus Timing (Return Journey)

Return coaches leave Fujairah Bus Station on the same daily pattern — first bus in the morning (from around 7:30 AM) and last bus around 10:30 PM, roughly every 100 minutes, arriving at Etisalat Bus Station about 2 hours later. The old habit of catching the E700 from the Choithrams Supermarket stops in Fujairah no longer works: the route now starts and ends at Fujairah Bus Station (near City Centre Fujairah), so build in the time to get there. For the exact departures on your travel day, check the S’hail app, which carries the live RTA schedule.

E700 Route and Stops

The current route has eight stops — far fewer than the old 14-stop Union version, because the coach now leaves the city quickly via the motorway corridor:

  1. Etisalat Bus Station (departure stand, Al Qusais)
  2. Sharjah Cement Factory — the Sharjah-side pickup/drop; useful for the Sharjah industrial area
  3. Dhaid, Post Office — Al Dhaid, the agricultural town at the junction for the east-coast roads
  4. Thoban, ENOC Petrol Station
  5. Masafi, Friday Market — the famous mountain market stop
  6. Masafi (town/hospital stop)
  7. Fujairah, Ajman University area
  8. Fujairah Bus Station (terminus)

The Masafi section is the scenic highlight: after Dhaid the road climbs into the Hajar Mountains, passing the Friday Market’s plant, pottery and carpet stalls before descending to the Fujairah coast. Our E700 bus guide has the stop-by-stop breakdown.

Dubai to Fujairah Bus Fare and Payment

The E700 fare is now AED 30 one-way. The AED 25 figure that dominates older guides belonged to the Union-era route. As an RTA bus, payment is by Nol card only — no cash, no bank cards on board. Tap in when you board and tap out at Fujairah; make sure your card holds at least the full fare plus your onward travel, because Etisalat station is also your Metro interchange on the way home. Regular commuters should note the fare difference versus our Dubai to Sharjah bus routes (AED 12) — the E700 covers three times the distance, and AED 30 still undercuts a taxi (AED 250+) by a huge margin.

Stations and How to Reach Them

  • Etisalat Bus Station (Dubai): beside Etisalat by e& Metro station, the eastern terminus of the Green Line in Al Qusais. From DXB Airport, the Green Line runs directly from Airport Terminal 1 and 3 stations. From Deira/Bur Dubai, ride the Green Line eastbound to the end of the line.
  • Fujairah Bus Station: Fujairah’s main terminal, a short walk/taxi from City Centre Fujairah. From here, local Fujairah Transport buses and taxis cover the Corniche, Dibba road and the resorts at Al Aqah (a further 45–60 minutes by road — there is no direct E700 continuation to the beach resorts).
  • Onward east-coast trips: Fujairah is the hub for Khor Fakkan and Kalba. Local buses from Fujairah Bus Station serve both; the E700’s Sharjah Cement Factory stop is also an informal connection point for Sharjah-bound local services.

Step-by-Step: Taking the E700 from Dubai to Fujairah

  1. Top up your Nol card to at least AED 30 plus your return/onward trips.
  2. Ride the Metro Green Line to its terminus, Etisalat by e&, and walk into Etisalat Bus Station.
  3. Find the E700 stand (the station displays show “E700 — Al Fujairah”) and confirm the next departure — remember, they are ~100 minutes apart.
  4. Tap in on boarding and settle in; the mountain section after Dhaid is about halfway through the 2-hour run.
  5. Get down at Fujairah Bus Station (the terminus) and tap out.
  6. For the return, board at Fujairah Bus Station — not the old Choithrams stops — and ride to Etisalat, where the Green Line takes you back across Dubai.

Rules and Tips

  • Do not go to Union: the single most common E700 mistake since August 2024. If your plans were based on an old blog, rebuild them around Etisalat station.
  • 100-minute gaps: unlike city routes, this is not a turn-up-and-go service. Plan backwards from the departure table above.
  • Friday Market stop: you can break the journey at Masafi Friday Market, but the next bus is ~100 minutes later and your fare is per boarding — it works as a deliberate excursion, not a quick photo stop.
  • Luggage: standard RTA intercity rules — bags in the hold/racks, no eating or drinking on board, priority seating at the front.
  • Weather: in rare heavy-rain periods, the Masafi mountain road can be affected by flooding and services may be suspended — check RTA alerts before travelling in storm weather.
  • Comparing north vs east: heading to Ras Al Khaimah instead? That coach still uses Union Station — see the Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah bus guide.

Going Further: Fujairah Beaches, Dibba and Khor Fakkan

Many E700 passengers are not stopping in Fujairah city at all — they are heading for the east-coast beaches. From Fujairah Bus Station, local buses and shared taxis run north towards Dibba and the resort strip at Al Aqah (Sandy Beach, Miramar and the other beach hotels, roughly 45–60 minutes further), and south towards Khor Fakkan and Kalba, which are actually in Sharjah’s eastern exclave. There is no through-ticket: you buy the E700 to Fujairah and pay the local leg separately, so keep small cash for Fujairah Transport services and taxis. If Al Aqah is your destination, the total Dubai-to-beach journey by bus is realistically 3.5–4 hours — pack it as a weekend trip rather than a day return, because the last E700 back leaves Fujairah at about 10:30 PM and the beach-to-station leg needs an hour of slack.

E700 vs Driving or Taxi

Driving the E88/E84 via Dhaid and Masafi takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes in a car — barely faster than the coach, because the E700 uses the same motorway corridor and its eight-stop pattern adds little. A metered taxi for the full trip costs in the region of AED 250–300 one-way. The bus at AED 30 wins on price by an order of magnitude; the car wins only if you are a group of four splitting fuel and Salik, or if you need the Masafi and Friday Market stops on your own schedule.

About 2 hours (the scheduled run is just under 2 hours in the current RTA data), covering roughly 120 km via Sharjah Cement Factory, Dhaid and Masafi.

How often does the E700 bus run?

Ten departures a day in each direction, approximately every 100 minutes: from Etisalat at 7:30 AM, 9:10 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:10 PM, 3:50 PM, 5:30 PM, 7:10 PM, 8:50 PM and 10:30 PM.

Not directly, but it is a simple connection: from DXB Terminal 1 or 3, take the Metro Green Line eastbound to its terminus, Etisalat by e&, and board the E700 at the adjoining bus station. Allow about 30–40 minutes for the Metro leg.

Does the E700 stop at Masafi Friday Market?
