Passengers boarding the E102 bus at Ibn Battuta for Mussafah and Abu Dhabi Airport

E102 Bus: Ibn Battuta to Mussafah (Abu Dhabi) — Timings, Stops & Fare

The E102 bus is the Dubai–Abu Dhabi intercity route built for two groups of travellers: workers and residents heading to Mussafah and Shabiya in Abu Dhabi, and passengers flying from Zayed International Airport (Terminal A). The full E102 bus route runs from Al Jafiliya Bus Station in Dubai — calling at Ibn Battuta Bus Station, where most Dubai passengers board — through the airport and the Mussafah community stops to Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station. It costs the same flat AED 25 as the other routes in our Dubai to Abu Dhabi bus guide, and it is paid by Nol card.

Timings can change on weekends and public holidays; check the RTA journey planner before you travel.

E102 Bus Route and Stops

Unlike the E100 and E101, which finish at Abu Dhabi Central, the E102 crosses the city and continues into the Mussafah industrial and residential districts — which is why it is the commuter backbone for Shabiya, Mohammed Bin Zayed City and ICAD workers.

Dubai (Al Jafiliya / Ibn Battuta) to Mussafah Shabiya

  1. Al Jafiliya Bus Station (start)
  2. Ibn Battuta Bus Station — main Dubai boarding point, beside Ibn Battuta Metro Station (Red Line)
  3. Zayed International Airport — Terminal A
  4. Mussafah, Al Ain University S&T
  5. Mussafah, Al Najah Private School
  6. Mussafah, Al Mussafah Park
  7. Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station — final stop

Mussafah Shabiya to Dubai

  1. Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station (start)
  2. Zayed International Airport — Terminal A
  3. Ibn Battuta Bus Station
  4. Al Jafiliya Bus Station — final stop

Some older guides still describe the E102 as starting from Al Ghubaiba — that is outdated. The current route starts at Al Jafiliya, and Ibn Battuta is where the great majority of Dubai passengers get on and off. If you need Abu Dhabi city centre instead of Mussafah, the E101 bus from the same Ibn Battuta station is faster and runs every 20–30 minutes.

The E102 runs to a simple hourly pattern: departures at 20 minutes past the hour from both ends, from 6:20 AM to 11:20 PM daily. The full run to Mussafah Shabiya takes about 2 hours, and the airport stop is reached roughly 40–50 minutes before the Mussafah terminus. Because the service is only hourly, missing a bus costs you a full hour — plan to be at the stop 15 minutes early, and check the S’hail or Darb app for live running on the day. Services can shift on public holidays.

E102 Bus Fare and Payment

The E102 fare is a flat AED 25, charged to your Nol card when you tap in at boarding. Keep at least AED 25 of balance on the card; cash is not accepted. Top up at Al Jafiliya or Ibn Battuta Metro stations, or at any Metro or bus station ticket office. Children under 5 travel free on RTA services. Once you are inside Mussafah, remember that Abu Dhabi’s local buses use the Hafilat card, not Nol — if you are continuing within Abu Dhabi city, you will need Hafilat for those local trips (see the comparison in our Dubai to Abu Dhabi bus guide).

How to Reach the E102 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

In Dubai, board at Ibn Battuta Bus Station, right beside Ibn Battuta Metro Station on the Red Line and the Ibn Battuta Mall — the easiest access point for Marina, JLT, Jebel Ali and Al Barsha residents. The Al Jafiliya terminus is a short walk from Al Jafiliya Metro Station (Red Line), handy for Satwa, Karama and Jafiliya itself. At the Abu Dhabi end, Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station sits in sector M-37 near Mazyad Mall and connects with Abu Dhabi local buses into the city. For the airport, the bus drops you at Terminal A departures level — allow at least 2 hours between the bus’s scheduled airport arrival and your flight’s check-in deadline.

Tips for Riding the E102

  • The hourly frequency means planning matters more than on any other Dubai–Abu Dhabi route — screenshot your departure time before you set out.
  • For flights, never take the last feasible bus; one missed hourly departure can mean a missed flight.
  • Luggage goes in the underfloor hold; keep your passport and valuables in the cabin.
  • No eating or drinking on board — RTA fines apply.

Does the E102 stop at Abu Dhabi Airport?

Yes. The E102 calls at Zayed International Airport — Terminal A in both directions, which makes it the only direct Dubai intercity bus for the airport. The E100 and E101 do not serve the airport.

How much is the E102 bus fare?

The fare is AED 25 one way, paid with a Nol card. There are no cash payments and no advance booking — tap in when you board.

Where does the E102 start in Dubai?

The route’s Dubai terminus is Al Jafiliya Bus Station, and it then calls at Ibn Battuta Bus Station, where most passengers board. Older websites listing Al Ghubaiba as the E102 start point are out of date.

How long does the E102 take from Dubai to Mussafah?

About 2 hours end to end. Mussafah Shabiya to Ibn Battuta alone takes roughly 1 hour 40 minutes, and the airport is about 1 hour 15 minutes from Ibn Battuta.

Can I use a Nol card on the E102?

Yes — Nol is the standard payment method on this RTA intercity route. Make sure the card holds at least AED 25 before boarding, as the full fare is deducted at tap-in.
