Abu Hail Bus Station in Deira, Dubai — a cluster of numbered boarding points on the streets beside Abu Hail Metro station, with no terminal building

Abu Hail Bus Station Dubai: Routes & Timings

Abu Hail Bus Station is the name RTA gives to the bus stops clustered around Abu Hail Metro station in Deira — and it is worth being clear about what it is: there is no terminal building here. The “station” is a set of numbered boarding points — RTA listings name them “Abu Hail Bus Station 1, 2, 3, 6…” alongside the “Abu Hail Metro Bus Stop A and B” stops — on the streets either side of the Green Line station, in the Abu Hail and Hor Al Anz quarter. What makes this modest stop cluster matter is one route: the E307A, Deira’s eastern bus to Sharjah, starts here, alongside the city routes 5 and C03.

Abu Hail sits between the older Deira districts and Al Qusais, and its stops do two jobs: they feed the neighbourhood — Hor Al Anz, Abu Hail and the eastern side of Al Baraha — into the Metro, and they give Sharjah commuters a Deira-side departure that avoids the run into the city centre. This guide covers the routes that use the stops, the E307A, the timings, the Metro link, and Nol payment.

Routes from Abu Hail Bus Station

The E307A: Abu Hail’s Sharjah Bus

The E307A is the reason this stop cluster appears in intercity searches at all. It runs from the Abu Hail stops — RTA listings put its departure at Abu Hail Bus Station 6 / Abu Hail Metro Bus Stop A — across the Sharjah border to Al Jubail Bus Station, calling at a handful of stops including the Al Wahda Road and King Faisal Road stops in Sharjah. The ride takes roughly 45–50 minutes in normal traffic and costs a flat AED 12, paid by Nol card only — cash is not accepted. Buses leave Abu Hail roughly every 30 minutes, from about 6:30 AM to about 10:35 PM Monday to Saturday, with a later Sunday start (planners show the first Sunday departure at around 11:15 AM). It is a commuter service in both directions: the first buses from Al Jubail reach Abu Hail early in the morning, and the last Sharjah-bound bus is a late-evening one. Because Al Wahda Road traffic decides the real journey time, check live departures in the S’hail app before relying on a connection.

One confusion to avoid: the E307A’s sister route, the E307, runs to the same Al Jubail terminus but starts from Deira City Centre, not Abu Hail. If a guide sends you to Deira City Centre for the “Abu Hail bus”, it has mixed the two routes up.

City Routes Based at Abu Hail

Two RTA city routes are based at the Abu Hail stops, tying the district to Union Square and Karama.

RouteDestinationGood for
5Union Bus StationThe link to Union Square — Deira’s main hub, with the Red and Green Line interchange and the E-routes to Sharjah and Hatta
C03Al Karama Bus StationThe cross-Deira ride — through Al Baraha and Bur Dubai to Karama; also shown as C3 in some listings
E307ASharjah, Al Jubail Bus StationThe intercity service — flat AED 12 by Nol, roughly every 30 minutes

The 5 is the district’s short hop to Union Bus Station — useful when you want Deira’s main hub rather than the Green Line platforms above you: the Red Line, the Creek-side stops and Union’s own buses. The C03 is the longer ride: it threads through the Al Baraha streets and across to Bur Dubai before finishing at Karama, and it is the district’s earliest and latest bus, running from around 5:30 AM until past midnight.

Other Buses Around the Abu Hail Stops

More RTA routes serve street stops in the wider Abu Hail area without starting here. The 43 calls at stops by the Metro station on its corridor between Gold Souq and Dubai Festival City. Planners also list the 13 and 13A, the C9, C10, X28 and 64 at street stops around the station — check which exact stop your route uses, because these are street stops, not the numbered station points. The E400 to Ajman also passes through the Abu Hail side of Deira — planners list it at the district’s mosque-side stops — but it does not use the station points; for a guaranteed Ajman departure, start at Union. And the F01 feeder loop from Union serves the neighbouring Al Baraha streets rather than Abu Hail itself — our Al Baraha Bus Station guide covers that pattern.

Abu Hail Bus Station Timings

There is no single station timetable — every route keeps its own schedule — but the shape of the day is consistent. The C03 is the first and last bus in the district, running from around 5:30 AM until past midnight. The E307A keeps intercity hours: roughly 6:30 AM to 10:35 PM from Abu Hail Monday to Saturday at about a 30-minute frequency, with a later Sunday start (around 11:15 AM in current planner listings) and wider gaps. The 5 follows the Metro-day pattern to Union. Friday and holiday patterns differ, and timings shift during Ramadan. For live departures from your exact numbered point, check RTA‘s S’hail app on the day.

How to Reach Abu Hail Bus Station

By Metro: Abu Hail Station, Green Line

This is the easiest station on this site to reach by Metro, because the Metro station is the landmark: Abu Hail station, on the Green Line between Al Qiyadah and Abu Baker Al Siddique. The bus stops are immediately outside — RTA listings put Abu Hail Bus Station 6 about a minute’s walk away and the other numbered points within roughly 1–3 minutes’ walk of the exits. There is no long transfer here: come out of the Metro, check your route’s numbered point in S’hail, and walk to it.

By Bus

The 5 brings you here from Union Square and the C03 from Karama and Al Baraha in reverse; the E307A arrives from Sharjah’s Al Jubail; and the calling routes listed above drop you at street stops around the Metro station. From the Creek side of Deira, Sabkha Bus Station‘s stops sit by Baniyas Square station, four Green Line stops west of Abu Hail.

By Taxi or Car

Taxis know the landmark as Abu Hail Metro station — ask for it by name, on Abu Hail Road in Hor Al Anz; Abu Hail Centre, the district’s mall, stands nearby. By car, the quarter sits between Abu Baker Al Siddique Road (D78) and Al Khaleej Street, with the airport a short drive east. Kerbside space near the stops is tight — if someone is dropping you off, use a side street rather than the boarding points themselves.

Facilities and Tickets

Set expectations correctly, as with the other small Deira termini: Abu Hail is a working stop cluster, not a terminal building. There is no waiting hall, no departure concourse and no ticket office at the bus stops — buses use numbered boarding points, which is why RTA stop names here read “Abu Hail Bus Station 1”, “Abu Hail Bus Station 3”, “Abu Hail Bus Station 6” and so on. Check which point your route uses in the S’hail app before you arrive: the E307A, for example, is listed at point 6 / Metro Bus Stop A. Some websites describe a full station facility here; treat those descriptions with caution — nothing in RTA’s listings supports them.

What the cluster lacks, the Metro station provides. Abu Hail Metro station, a minute or two from every point, is where you buy or top up a Nol card — and every bus from these stops is Nol only. City routes charge RTA’s standard zone fares (AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones and AED 7.50 across three or more), deducted when you tap out; the 5 to Union stays in the local zone, while the C03’s longer run to Karama costs more. The E307A is the exception: a flat AED 12 intercity fare, and your card must hold at least that much before you board — there is no cash fallback on the Sharjah bus.

Around the stops, Abu Hail and Hor Al Anz are dense, everyday Deira: Abu Hail Centre for shopping, streets of cafeterias, supermarkets and small clinics, and the residential blocks the 5 and C03 exist to serve.

Travel Tips for Abu Hail Bus Station

  • Find your numbered point first: The 5, C03 and E307A board from different numbered points, not one shared bay. The E307A is listed at point 6 / Metro Bus Stop A — confirm your point in S’hail and wait there.
  • Do not confuse E307A with E307: Both end at Sharjah’s Al Jubail, but the E307 starts at Deira City Centre. From Abu Hail, only the E307A is yours — boarding the wrong sister route is the classic mistake here.
  • Load AED 12 before the Sharjah bus: The E307A is Nol only at a flat AED 12 with no cash option. Top up at Abu Hail Metro station before you walk to the point.
  • Mind the Sunday E307A start: Planners show the first Sunday departure from Abu Hail at around 11:15 AM, hours later than the weekday pattern. For a Sunday-morning trip to Sharjah, check the E307 from Deira City Centre or the Creek-side options in S’hail.
  • Use the Metro you’re standing on: For Union, the Creek and most of Deira, the Green Line directly above the stops is usually quicker than the bus in traffic — the 5 earns its keep when you specifically want Union Bus Station rather than the platforms.
  • Expect Al Wahda Road delays: The E307A’s 45–50 minutes is the clear-traffic figure. In the evening peak towards Sharjah the same ride stretches — leave a buffer if you have a connection at Al Jubail.
